WHAT MOVES THE NEEDLE

The scoring rules & limitations

Points & form: season points per game plus the last three completed regular-season weeks. All-play measures how often a team would have beaten every other franchise each week. The difference between actual and expected wins flags fortunate and unfortunate records.

Roster strength: estimated best lineup and a small bench-depth allowance. Player ability uses this season’s fantasy points with two games of prior-season average as a stabilizer. This is a production proxy, not scouting grades or a dynasty trade-value service. New players with little history have less reliable estimates; bye weeks and zero-point games can depress them.

Health: the strongest available lineup relative to the strongest healthy lineup. Questionable players retain 85% of estimated output, doubtful 25%, out 10%, IR/PUP/suspended 0%. Reserves can offset the loss. These are model assumptions, not medical forecasts.

Schedule & NFL context: remaining fantasy opponents’ scoring averages and ability-weighted NFL team win percentages. NFL team record is a small context adjustment; it is not a player matchup projection. Remaining schedule weight is excluded if the full schedule is unavailable.

Age & trades: ability-weighted lineup age is a small dynasty adjustment. Trades affect rankings through the updated roster; recent deals are displayed separately. Draft picks are listed in trade receipts, but are not scored as current-season strength. No extra trade bonus double-counts a player.

Live scoring: a small live-week points adjustment makes rankings move during games. It does not adjust for players remaining, so teams that play earlier can temporarily benefit. Missing components are neutral or have their weight redistributed, as shown above.

Refresh: rankings, rosters and live scores refresh about every minute on an open page. The server feed is recalculated on request and cached for 60 seconds. ESPN injuries refresh every five minutes; NFL standings every 15 minutes; Sleeper player profiles at most once daily. Source updates and corrections may lag. A closed browser does not run a timer; the next visit requests current data.

Countdown: the first scheduled NFL kickoff of your league’s playoff week, from ESPN. It follows the league’s playoff-week setting (currently Week 14) and pauses if a kickoff cannot be confirmed. NFL schedule changes can change the target.

Movement: compared with the preceding successful server-generated ranking, shared across visitors. Repeated identical rankings show no movement. Ranks may stay the same when underlying scores change.

Sources: Sleeper for league data and player profiles; ESPN for NFL standings, injury reports and kickoff times.
